Brrrrr! It feels like the weather is definitely changing this week! Our school gym is being painted this week, so all P.E. classes will be outside - this means kids need to dress to be outdoors! Warm coats and outdoor shoes are a must.

On Tuesday, Mr. Don Stewart will be visiting our class. Mr. Stewart went on a trip to Peru and is going to share his photos with us and tell us more about this amazing country. What a great way for students to learn more about one of the countries we are studying in Social Studies!

Attention all soccer players: the final tournament will be after school on Wednesday. If you have any questions, ask Mr. Hacke.

Friday is our Halloween celebration. Students can bring costumes to school and change into them during recess if they choose. After recess we will be participating in some school-wide Halloween fun.

Homework folders are due on Thursday, and our spelling test will be on Friday.

Happy Halloween!

Woohoo! The weekend is almost here! Remember, there is no school on Monday because teachers and support staff will be having a Professional Development Day in Taber.

Tuesday is Rural Safety Day. Lunch will be provided for students.

Wednesday is hot lunch day. Thanks to Mrs. Rotheiseler for working so hard at making us yummy lunches twice a month. It is a big job, and we appreciate it!

Have a great long weekend!

One of our absolute favourite math games in the Grade Three room is Connect_Sums. It is a challenging game that helps students practice their addition and subtraction knowledge. They have been asking me to add it to the blog so I have put it in my "Mathmaticious Links."
Here is the link you need Grade Threes!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving holiday. Mine was lovely - filled with family, friends, and way too much food.

Since it is a short week, there will be no homework for the Grade 3s and 4s in Math. The Grade 3s do have their regular spelling test on Friday - check out my Spelling City website if you would like to practice.

On Thursday, the Grade 3s and 4s are going to be doing an art activity which we will need leaves for. If you are walking around outside and notice some interesting leaves, please bring them to school on Thursday in a plastic bag. It would be a big help!

Remember - no school next Monday! Teachers and support staff will be attending a Professional Development Day in Taber.

Today the Grade 3 class visited the residents at the Milk River Extendicare. We do this once a month, and all of the kids look forward to it every time. The Grade 3s read aloud to residents. Over the year, it is wonderful to see the students build relationships with the senior citizens. It also teaches students the value of being a contributing member of a community. Here are some photos from our trip today. Enjoy!

This week is going to be a busy one!

Today we had a special visit from a storyteller with the Young Alberta Book Society. Her name was Mary Ann Lippiatt. She was a wonderful speaker, telling stories from all over the world, including India, Peru, the Arctic, the rainforest, and the tundra. Her stories always taught valuable lessons like how important it is to believe in yourself. She also brought many artifacts from different cultures to share with the students.

You can check out more information about Ms. Lippiatt at the following link:

This Wednesday is hot lunch - yummy!

Our school assembly for October is on Thursday at 8:30am. All family is welcome.

On Friday, our room will be losing one of our classmates! It will be a sad day, as Harmony is moving away. We wish her all the best in her new home.

Homework folders are due Thursday, and spelling test is on Friday, as always.

Hope you have a fabulous week!
